Yahoo Site Explorer Alternatives

If you have been using Yahoo Site Explorer to keep an eye on your backlinks you can no longer do so because it has now shut down. Yahoo recommends that their users move across to Bing Webmaster Tools, but there are other alternatives out there.

Free Alternatives

There are plenty of free alternatives, but they are a real mixed bag. The best way to establish how they compare to YSE is to take your last YSE report, try a few of them and compare the results. Blekko, iWebTool and Backlink Checker are all well established free tools, all of which are worth a try. However, it is also worth trying a few new ones like Exalead.

Paid Alternatives

If you are not happy with the free backlink checkers take a look at some of the paid alternative. A lot of them have trial accounts, which allow you to see if they are right for you. Most of the paid providers allow you to see a limited number of backlinks using a free version of their software and this is also a good way of getting a feel for the level of detail that is available and deciding whether or not to buy the software.
